Services

  • Mentoring projects - To support people on employment, education and personal development through the provision of a one to one mentoring service
  • Befriending Service - Supporting people to learn about Scotland, its culture, English language and other necessary aspects of Scottish life for them to settle in here with ease through the provision of a one to one befriending service
  • English classes - English language classes are provided at beginner to intermediate and intermediate to advanced levels
  • Volunteer work placement service - To support people to gain work experience and improve their employability
  • Ethnic talent Showcase - To promote ethnic talents in the entertainment field
  • Social events - Educational and cultural events are held for people to socialise and make new social connections

LINKnet wins the Queen's Award for voluntary service 2018

LINKnet wins the Queen's Award for voluntary service 2018On 02 June 2018, the Queen’s Award Committee approved LINKnet’s nomination for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2018. At a ceremony held on 30 July 2018 at the City Chambers of Edinburgh, the Queen’s representative, Lord Lieutenant Frank Ross awarded the certificate and the crystal to a group of representatives from LINKnet stakeholders. The award had been achieved by only two organisations in Edinburg in 2018.

LINKnet is the first and the only minority ethnic organisation from Edinburgh and the Lothians to win this prestigious award since its inception in 2002 on Queen’s birth day honours.

LINKnet Mentoring Ltd Vacancies - 2022

Development Officer -No More Isolation, No More Tears Project (NINT)

Full-time (36 hrs per week)

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Annual Leave-25 days per year

Pension: Employer contribution 8%

LINKnet Mentoring Limited is based in Edinburgh and provides mentoring support to minority ethnic people on career, education and personal development as its core service. The post holder will be responsible for some developmental and some admin aspects of the “NINT” project sponsored by National Lottery Community Fund which aims to address the issues of loss, isolation and loneliness of minority ethnic people.

Job aspects: To do out-reach work to promote NINT project to befriendees and befrienders. The post holder will make suitable service pairs, manage, monitor and evaluate progress of the befriendees and organise various community activities.
